Soumitra Chatterjee was born on January 19, 1935 in Krishnanagar, Bengal Presidency, British India as Soumitra Chattapadhaya. He is an actor, known for The World of Apu (1959), Aranyer Din Ratri (1970) and Podokkhep (2006).
He is married to Deepa Chatterjee.
