Alex Gaskarth was born in Essex, England, before moving to Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 6. Alex met Jack Barakat in Middle School and they become friends.
Once they moved to high school, they befriended Rian Dawson. Zack Merrick went to their rival high school, but they became friends. Alex, Jack, Rian and Zack went on to form All Time Low.
