Tim McDonnell was born on October 7th 1975 in Howth, Co.Dublin, Ireland.
After a very successful, widely published, international photography career which included numerous editorials for Tatler and a period teaching cinematography at the renowned Windill Lane Studios, his flair & talent for imagery led him naturally into film.
Working on a feature film with his friend Eoin Macken (NBC's NightShift; Resident Evil; Night Flyers) his passion for the silver-screen grew and he has devoted his time since then to excelling in the industry.
He is currently (2018) co-producing the feature 'He Who Dares' (in development); The TV series 'Unrest' (in development); the feature film 'Yeti' (in development).
He will also star in each project.
Since moving to London in 2014 he has starred in the FX drama 'The Bastard Executioner' (2015); 'The Late Shift' (2016); Discovery Channel's Documentary 'War Time Crimes' (2017) and the FOX drama 'Deep State' (2018) & short film 'To Asal With Love, Nadia' soon to be made into a TV series.
In Ireland as an actor he featured in a number of films such as Leopard (2013); How To Be Happy (2013); Maisey (2014) as well as starring in, producing & co-writing DogEatDog (2015) along with his brother, director, Gavin McDonnell.
Tim also works extensively with the charity SightSavers in Developing countries in SubSaharan Africa & Bangladesh and has recently returned from shooting a documentary in Mozambique.
