Ann worked extensively in theatre before embarking on her screen career.
She was a member of the Olivier Award winning Histories Ensemble at the Royal Shakespeare Company and in 2017 was listed in The Guardian's top ten teachers ever played on stage for her performance as Jo in "School Play" at The Southwark Playhouse.
