Sidney Leeder

Sidney is a performer, writer and producer of TV, film and commercial content. Sidney was first introduced to the art of performance through dance.

She began dancing at the age of three and by age ten was training professionally, devoting eighteen hours each week to ballet, jazz and contemporary classes.

On the day of her high school graduation Sidney received a call from Elite Model Management requesting to sign her. Elite sent Sidney to her first audition, a Joe Fresh commercial, which she booked.

Sidney's first experience on set had her hooked. From that point on she immersed herself in acting and began booking regular roles on TV & film productions.

Recent acting credits include the CW/Netflix series iZombie, a supporting role in the film Romance Retreat starring Amanda Schull (Centre Stage, Suits), a large supporting role in the sci-fi film Debug acting alongside Jason Momoa, and a lead role in the short film (rough cut), which Sidney also wrote and produced.

Sidney has worked as a dancer and choreographer on commercial, film and live performance productions.

Clients include Carly Rae Jepson, DVBBS, LMFAO, Virgin Mobile, Moroccan Oil, Charlotte Tilbury, Holt Renfrew, Much Music, Veld, Drake and the CW series Reign.

While on set as an actor & dancer Sidney grew curious about the world of production.

Having previously choreographed for a producer on a music video she reached out offering production assistance and was immediately enlisted as the producers coordinator.

While continuing to act, dance & model Sidney coordinated & produced commercials for Taco Bell, Neutrogena, Crown Royal, Visa, Budweiser, Habitat for Humanity, Winners, Tim Hortons, Alessia Cara and others.

Sidney was a producer, actor and dancer in Drake's short film Jungle created for the release of his 2015 album, and in 2016 wrote, produced & acted in her first original work (rough cut), a short film exploring sexual politics on set.

The film had its world premiere during TIFF 2016, was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick, featured on Short of the Week and screened at MoMA in February 2019.

To follow (rough cut) Sidney wrote, directed, danced & acted in her second original work Player, slated to release in 2020. She currently (2019) has three short films in post-production, is writing a feature and developing a short format series.

Sidney has divided her time between three major cities; Toronto, Los Angeles and New York City.

She currently resides in Toronto. IMDb Mini Biography By: Patricia Fallingbrook
